How to Setup a VPN Account on your iDevice
Hello gals and guys,
Today I will provide a step-by-step guide as to how to set up a VPN account on your iPhone, iPad, iPod or any of Apple’s iDevices. VPN accounts have many uses but in this part of the world they are usually used to work around your service provider and access contents that are either blocked or require a US-based IP address (Spotify, Hulu, etc…). Below a step-by-step walkthrough to get your VPN account up and running on your iDevice.
Step 1: You need to do a google search for PPTP VPN services, there are a lot services to choose from, once you buy an account you should acquire the following:
- server address: which should be something like vpn111.vpn.com
- a username: which should be unique to you, either assigned to you by the service site or created as your want to be.
- finally you should get a password, it is recommended that you change the initial password once you get it from the VPN service provider.
now let’s go to next step.
Step 2:
You open your iDevice and look for the settings icon as you see it below and click on it.
Then you go to General.
Then choose VPN.
Then you click on the PPTP Option, and start inputing the data you got from your VPN service provider as descried in step 1. when done save and exit
Step 3:
Go back to Settings , you will see a VPN with an on/off switch, turn it on and should see your iDevice connected as shown in the image below.
Finally!!!!
You are done check the icon showing on your status bar it should show a VPN icon.
Cheers
